Yeah, the Irish Open should be great... there's also one in Britain and the US too if you fancied spreading your wings a bit...

Is 'The Open Championship' not the formal title of the the British round of the Majors?

Considered going to St. Andrews last year but the Hotels and the like were charging serious dosh so just could not afford it. However this year it is on in Kent(Royal St. Georges) so there may be a bit more accomadation freely available.

Other than that I would definitely reckon you should go to the Irish Open, tickets for the 4 days are only €25 and you'll always find a place in Killarney, I will be heading down on the Thursday only but still really looking forward to it, you really have to pick your groups though, the year Shane Lowry won, we followed Monty's group around for most of the day, ignorant man to say the least, hopefully this time I get to see John Daly and Padraig Harrington.

Ha, nice one Whip it!! He's right though. "The Open" is the proper name for the British one and not the Irish or US....

I'd love to go, but funds are just too tight. Enjoy it!
