    Hello,

I need to do a little bit of paint repairing for Ls400, color is black. But where I could find out paint code for my car, so I could get someone to mix a paint for my car.

I was planning to use brush to repair the paint, mostly small repairs, but I have also a 10cm long and about 2cm high area over the rear wheel that I have to take care of. I wonder after sanding the rust away, should I use primer and then paint and laqcuer or would just paint do the trick.

    Thanks

it will be on the VIN plate, or on the front door jamb.

the code is usually 202 (Same shade as Astral Black on Land Cruiser 03-09, Rav4 00>)
Can be got in any Toyota dealer, usually in stock.

Toyota are now doing water based touch up paint though, it's a bit harder to apply than the old stuff. they come with a little wire brush on the cap for scraping off rust.

A good guy to ask would be paintdoctor here. That car will be mint when you're done!

    Do use primer :)
Any brush touch ups I have ever seen have usually looked sh1t, but if you prime the surface and are patient putting on the paint it might look ok after a light rub down and a coat of laquer.

I have to check the vin number but could the paint code really be so short, 202? Because I have heard this number before in Lexus forum, but I assumed it is not correct.

Also I have to think should I use brush or spray, I have spray primer already from painting the wheels that I could use and maybe a bit of lacquer as well.

But painting the wheels is different thing than painting the side of the car, I have to do a lot of masking if I decide to use spray, altough I have to admit it would look much better finished as well.
