Yeah, you read correct, they're going to set up a guillotine outside the GPO and behead an effigy of Lizzie Windsor.

    http://www.eirigi.org/latest/latest090411.html

The protest, which is set to take place at 1pm on Saturday April 16th at the GPO in Dublin, will feature a piece of street theatre which will see ‘Elizabeth Windsor’ beheaded in a French revolution-style guillotine.

They seem to do anything to get a bit of notice. Fools

Apparently when Princess Margaret once reflected the murder of her cousin, Mountbatten, she said ''The Irish are Pigs''.

Please, anybody thinking of supporting this event, do not give reason for the world to see a country already on its knees retreat into the piggery.

LOL, yeah apparently she said it in front of the Irish-American Mayor of Chicago.

We're the ones supposedly beheading an effigy of an eighty year old grandmother.

Surely if they do not have permission to protest there.

(like even people who do charity work there need)

They can easily be told where to go! (probably outside McDonalds though:D)

Eirigí aren't really held up with admiration though or supported by our taxes.

    Unless we have a Scanger-stocracy.:D

I thought we invented tv shows like X Factor and Big Brother to keep these kind of idiots off the streets? Maybe we as a society need to create more circuses to entertain these cretins, so they won't have the free time to intrude on our consciousness any longer.

Do they think people are going to look at them as anything other than pathetic twats?

Well we do it every year in defiance of Rome rule.

As an atheist, I'd be the first with you on that Keith.

:) And i don't say that as some one who wants Protestants churches etc or Protestant rule. I don't want any big religious influence on society.

Fair play Keith I was convinced you would be in here to blast eirigi and conveniently not mention that.

Personally I think it is a good idea and a perfectly acceptable symbolic protest designed to ruffle a few feathers. Was half temped to go myself out of curiosity but I wont be around that day, Im sure there will be a video.

Surely if they are going to do this, why not on the day of the visit to get the most attention from possible media being in Dublin on the day?

Can we use their equipment afterwards to behead them?

They have a protest itinerary on their site. They will be doing stuff then too.

Can you fill us in on the details? They aren't going to run riot are they? lol. It will be a disaster.

I posted it up on the thread in AH, and no, they aren't. Talk of a camp at the garden of remembrance.

    Peaceful protest Keith!

Isn't she supposed to be going to the garden of remembrance?

Any chance they could make themselves, and I hate to use the word, "useful", and behead Myers, Harris & Dudley - Edwards?

And then behead Bertie, Cowen and the Catholic hierarchy?

    Seriously though, Eirigi are retards.

Mary Harney should have grabbed the skangery one who threw the paint at her and crammed her into her cavernous maw. Woulda been funny.

Not looking down at them for protesting- just thinking they have their priorities messed up. If they wanted to stage a mock execution which might have been meaningful to the 26 county state, they should have done so last week when the IMF were in town, or even called mass protests then.

Socialist Republicans opposed to visit of sectarian monarch whose troops are in Ireland shocker. Have the press been notified.

And they did something for the IMF, did they not?

Couldn't we just round them up? Just wait for them to gather and then take them all away for a while and lock them in a shed somewhere. Just for the duration of her visit.

I remember they did that with all the prostitutes and stray dogs in Athens, just before the Olympics, they caught them all and dumped them outside the city for the month. Well actually I think they just shot the dogs.

We could transport them to Longford or somewhere and let them slowly wander back.

    Internment, like?

As much as I think the likes of Eirigi are sh!theads, you couldn't just hold them because they might do something.
It'd only give them more to bleat about.

Internment of Republicans. Why did no-one ever think of that before? What could possibly go wrong with that?

Are you lot going to line up and try to out Joe Duffy each other all night? People protest at things that offend them, even if you don't agree with them. If you deal with that and accept it, life becomes a lot less stressful.

This is a low quality thread, and I'm going to lock it. I'm also going to ban a couple of people for their part in making it low quality.

Yez just can't discuss this stuff like adults, can you?
