Ok FG / Labour . You said the quangos would be dismantled.............

I was expecting to see the likes of Celia Larkin ( Berties old girlfriend ) and her ilk kicked out already

There are a huge amount of spongers in these quangos , we can't afford spongers

Come on now FG and Labour..... why are you sitting on your hands

arrah, sure why would they do that, boy? Sure haven't they hundreds of party faithful to find jobs for?

    Now, be realistic.

Brendan Howlin is currently doing a complete audit of the public service. I've heard that will take 6-9 months, the government is 1 month old so in 5-8 months it'll be finished and then things will be cut/merged.

It will probably happen in the budget in November, that would me my guess.

I hope it happens soon , we can't afford our coffers being plundered by gombeens

Here is an example from the UK times

Why is Howlin wasting his time doing another report? Colm McCarthy already did a review at least a year ago. All thats left to do is implement it. Its a very unpromising start, but then its highly unlikey Begg and O'Connors party are going to take the lead on getting the deficit under control.

your thread starts off OP by asking why FG & Lab aren't doing anything about Quangos. Then you quote an article from a year ago, relating to flack that FF was getting about a PR contract.

Was it not FF who stuffed quangos just before they were cut down to their present size by the electorate in the General Election.

I think you'll have to give the new government more than a month to tackle quangos.

+ 1 here Bud...hardly realistic to expect noo boys to clean up a mess of 14 years standing.

While they are at it ...as well as culling the Quangos have a look at the various "Charidee" organisations who recieve State Funding....sommat tells me they could do with a very close look.

    Remember Fas ??

Looks like varadkar has asked six of these FF cronies to sling their hooks.

Unfortunately celia Larkin wasn't on the list

Hopefully these will take varadkars strong advice
