Living abroad, unable to keep up with mortgage on Irish house

    Hi,
Was wondering if anyone could help me out with a question I have. Am living abroad, but still have a mortgage on my house in Ireland. If I was to tell the bank that I am unable to keep up with my mortgage, can they go after the amount owed, even if I'm not living in Ireland? Would the fact I am not there hurt my ability to agree on some sort of reduced monthly payment option? Anyone in a similar situation?
