Jobseekers and receiving payment for odd jobs.

I have been on the full jobseekers for a few months.
I am owed money for contract work from a friend.
I want to let the dole office know about this, I was not able to mark down the days worked as it was usually work done in the evenings (when I wasn't out begging for a job).

What do the SW do in this case?
Do they penalise me a certain amount based on what I earn from my friend?

I want to be straight up about this, but if it's too much bother I might just waiver the payment altogether if it means I'll be getting into trouble.
