Anyone else remember this illuminous slightly radioactive looking orange juice? The stuff was damn addictive but now that I think about it, it was kinda disgusting.

    Do they still make it?

I bought some the other day in Tesco. Hadn't had some in years. Its changed though. It now has no artificial colours or flavours and it doesnt taste half as good.
In the good 'ol days it was laced with every artificial colour and flavour they could get their hands on..................kinda like this.......................

I remember looking at the label on it in Dunnes once and the 5th or 6th (listed in order of quantity) ingredient on it was Vegetable Oil.

That was as close as I ever came to drinking it.

However, she said there were no safety risks and those affected would return to a normal colour in a few weeks.

Sunny D is still quite popular in the US. It signifies which side you fall on in the big class divide.

Rich people drink Orange Juice. Po people drink orange drank.

1.5 litres a day? What kind of idiot parents let their four year old do that? 1.5 litres of ANYTHING a day would have had a bad effect on that child.

I remember there was a Florida style and a California style Sunny Delight. I think a mango flavour one came out too. The Florida one was the nicest - much tangier than regular orange juice. I loved it at the time, but my Mam hated me drinking it.

Yeah remember that stuff, and about the kid turning yellow.

I also remember reading that Sunny D had a TV ad that showed a snowman drinking Sunny D and turning orange . . . . it either got pulled off the air or never made it.:pac:

'Be a Simpson, drink Sunny D!':p
But hey, if you read the article, you can get the same effect from orange juice, or carrots.
A litre of carrot juice a day should do it. Yay!

What's with the nostalgia? It's still on sale, I had a bottle about 3 weeks ago.

    Florida style is the nicest.

Rat piss in a plastic jar. Made with horrendous ingredients. Pure evil. I have work to do, where's my enormous phone?

Wow childhood memories! I think Florida style was my prefered choice, I begged my mum for some when she took me food shopping.

In retrospect the scandel came from the highly dishonest marketing of it to parents as 'healthy' by proclaiming its vitamn C content, while not mentioning the fact that it was worse sugar-wise then coke.

I liked one Sunny D flavour but hated the other. One of them tasted more orangey than the other, I liked that one. Never got it though, I alwaus just got generic squash from whichever supermarket was cheapest that week.
