Do airlines / airports have an issue with aluminium cases? I have some music gear with proper aluminium cases and have just started thinking about the process of checking them in etc. I googled and also checked Aerlingus website and didn't come up with anything at all so I'm guessing they must just open them and have a look inside. Anyone taken notice of this before? I'm not talking about some hardened metal looking case but a full-on aluminium case.

Airline / airport dont have any issue about aluminium cases. I have see lot of aluminium cases been check in but when you get your case off the luggage cliam at the arrival airport, You might expect few bump and dent but it could never happen. if your music equipment is easy to damage, put something soft into the case to stop the damage. you should expect the baggage handlier throw the case around and they dont care.
