    I found this a really really interesting read. It's a bit long, so I wont quote the text, I'll just provide the link:

    the TL;DR version is this:

    Hugh Grant (dont let that turn ya off) bugs the guy who bugs celebs, politicians, murder victims families etc. The guy talks about how the tabloids - Mr. Murdoch and his ilk - were up to their necks in phone tapping everyone and anyone.

    The most interesting bit for me is he talks about how Murdoch paid Nicole Kidman £5m to 'big up the French' by producing Moulin Rouge (a great example of how people like him work - what dirty deal had he done with the French gov/tourism board?) and then pays this hack to go find the dirt on Kidman.

    new respect for Hugh Grant after reading this...

    I actually quite like Hugh Grant. Not his movies, just the guy. Not really sure why though!

    considering your mod of the conspiracy forums, i could imagine you'd like it alright!

    to think the level of dirt these guys would have got on everyone from the royals to the politicians to the celebs. i'd say some amount of horse trading went on between the editors, Murdoch and the 'elite'.
