Is it better to replace the front tyres of the car as a pair or is it ok to just replace one? I need to replace the front left tyre of my car. I seem to remember hearing that it is better to replace them as a pair. Is this correct?

Replace in pairs. But it's unusual to have to replace one. Is it wearing unevenly? Your tracking may be off if it is.

yes it makes more sense to replace tyres in pairs,it will also give you peace of mind that you have two matching tyres with the same levels of grip up front

to be honest the other tyre probably doesnt have a massive amount of life on it. Its in getting a service at the moment and the garage phoned me and told me that it needed to be replaced and that they can do it for €75. They seem to think that the others are Ok but i checked the other front tyre not so long ago and it was close to the minimum.

in pairs is preferable, as with shocks, springs, bearings, brake pads and discs etc. Yes it's more expensive but it's better, particularly with anything that's involved with steering or braking, you need the most even, predictable response possible

Replace in pairs and see if you can get same tyres cheaper online, find someone local to fit.

Renew front in pairs but move the good front tyre to the rear of the car

I had my car in for a service with a main dealer last year, they phoned me to say that the front tyres were worn and did I want to replace them. I said 'no' because I knew there was plenty of rubber left on them.

Ten thousand kms later there is still 3mm tread on the front tyres.
