Matchmaker: Gina Carano vs ?

Who could Gina Carano fight in her June Strikeforce match?

Amanda Nunes is on a 6 match streak with all finishes. A natural women's middleweight, she may be a fight away from a title match.

Meisha Tate has her victory in the Strikeforce tournament with a title shot in the air, maybe a match with Carano would suit to increase the women's divisions profile.

Erin Toughill is a constant name in women's MMA, the publicity kick is there but she's been on the sidelines.

Yana Kunitskaya has a smaller record but is considered good, as is Hiroko Yamanaka though both lack the necessary fan awareness to draw in a crowd.

I think it comes down to what Strikezuffa want for Miss Carano. Do they bring in a name like Tate or Toughill so they can hype it up, or allow a real contender on a run and who may beat Carano to have their go?

    Thoughts from all?

She's gonna have to move weight if she wants to go anywhere as Cyborg just ripped her to pieces last time, is there a higher weight class for women?

There's no set weight classes for women under unified rules. So promotinos set their own rules, strikeforces 145lbs middleweight is the biggest. Her only other options would be 135lbs welterweight with strikeforce. Belator is only 115lbs

Almost two years out of the cage and off making movies. She's great for promos, but Cyborg owns the division

The women's MMA Scene do kinda have their own weight categories. They are quite a close knit group and do well to promote themselves and slowly are trying to become an effective pressure group within the industry

As for who should fight Gina....this video has a few suggestions

In your one day on boards.ie and specifically the MMA forum, your contribution has been to criticise a promotion, a fighter and his management and the belittlement of the female MMA by implying that nobody wants to watch FMMA fights unless the competitors are hot all whilst going about whatever your day job is.

    Awesome job.
