Aviva now cover cars of any age so long as they have an NCT and I got a quote but want to get another.

Anyone know of any other companies that do this? 123.ie wouldn't quote me.

Partner is on classic insurance atm but I can't drive on these policies for another year due to my age.

I wanna drive my car again!!

depends on the car: my 1993 & 1994 cars are on Classic.

Btw, for Classic, you usually have to have a daily driver insured as well.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

He means some companies require you to have another 'normal' car/insurance policy before giving you discounted classic insurance.

Good bit of info in the sticky over on Classics.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Oh right yeah, we have that. A jeep. But I want to move away from the classic insurance policy so I can drive the car now.

So you're looking for normal non-classic insurance on an 88. All I can suggest is to go about it the normal way and get plenty of quotes/shop around.

Some companies make a big deal about the cars age and won't insure over 10 years old say, while others don't care about age. I'd say your age/driving history will affect the cost more than the car. What car is it?

A lot have 10/15/20 year limits.

AVIVA and AXA don't have an upper vehicle age limit on the standard car policies as far as I know.

Hi, it's a BMW. I have been ringing around but haven't yet found anyone other than Aviva, so was wondering if anyone knew a company off hand. Most still say nothing over the age of 15.

Didn't even consider Axa as they seem so expensive!

    Try First Ireland.

They insured a 72 for me on a non-classic policy.

First Ireland were very flexible for me too. I had my car on classic insurance based on that I was a named driver on mrs unkel's car, a construction they suggested to me

    Post above reported.

OP, you should try First Ireland. I have both my minis registered with them, and I have found them very very good. I always recommend them.
