    Hi,

I am looking to buy a new TV, this will mainly be used to play the xbox 360, watch items from an archos, and watch DVDs (currently do not have HD).

I have briefly looked into this, and believe the following specs would provide me with what I need - 100Hz, Scart port, 1080 Full HD, port for cable TV.

    I was considering the following - http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/4975011/art/lg/42ld550-lcd-television.html#pix-review

What are your thoughts on this - is there a better option I should be looking at? I would not really want to spend much more than this on the new TV. Also, do you know which stores in Dublin would sell these? Do you stock these in your store?

    Thanks

    Hi Dowdy

Have a chat with the lads in Ricer Sounds in Belfast, Dave and Kenny, they will be able to guide you on the various LG options they have available.

Check this out for a Philips alternative, its the Philips 42PFL5405H
    http://www.philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/42pfl5405h_05_pss_eng.pdf
This sells for €699.99 but i'll pm you a better price on it now
This looks great with XBox- we tried it instore and is a 100Hz TV with a 2ms response time
    1080p Full HD
    3x HDMI
    1x SCART
    1x USB
    standard RF input

    Dowdy,

many thanks for the post & apologies for the delay getting back to you.

That LG 42LD550 is not a model that we have ever stocked and to be honest I'm not familiar with it - but to be fair it does seem well priced.

The closest model to it we stock is the 42LD450 which is not 100Hz but is also REALLY well priced as it's just £369.95 / €439.99 (it's over €520 most places in the ROI) and if you have a look around on the Terrestrial forum on boards you will see that it is already Highly recommended by Boardies.

Apologies again for the delay getting back to you and please drop me a line if I can assist in any way.
