JSB Cheque in Post Query

Hi guys, just looking for some info. Any help appreciated. Posting for my housemate so sketchy details..

Housemate applied for JSB on March 18th (P45, 2 forms of ID, fit to work cert, etc etc). Received SW card in post the following week. Went to local SW office on 2 occasions since then to enquire and was told it was processing, but she was eligible. Yesterday she gets a cheque in the door from the local SW office that's dated for five days March 22-26.

Along with this she receives another letter in the post from the local SW office with a letter that states she has been awarded JSB and she is going to be paid by cheque sent to her address. She was wondering if this is normal procedure as she was informed that she had to collect payments from the post office?

She also applied for backdating (to February 22nd) and produced 3 "thanks but no thanks" letters after going for interview. She was wondering if she will get that backdating at all now that she got the cheque in the post. Also will she receive payments for the dates between march 26th and present.

Thanks for any replies! Her sign on date is next wednesday the 20th.
