old medicines disposal?

    just wondering what are you suppose to do with old medicines?

    bring them back to where you bought them , thats what the dept guy told me

    get some thing in writing to say you did, and file, it to show dept if they do come knocking

    Check with local council as they usually arrange collections at the main dumps yearly for medicine bottles etc.

    You can return unused, unopened and out of date medicine to where you bought it and they can try to get their supplier to take them back.
    Very grey area as Dept say one thing and yet suppliers say another.

    If opened bottle with some left think you have to go council route.

    Very expensive to get drug waste dealt with legally. I cannot see how your vet could afford to handle it, especially with the financial situation in most practices. Much more expensive than ordinary sharps/ bottle waste.
