    hi guys,
i have a acer aspire 5920 laptop, and a 46" sony bravia tv.
ive googled and had a look around,i'm trying to get audio through my tv from latop via hdmi cable.

i went into display on laptop and i can get the laptop screen to play on tv,but there is no audio from tv, only the laptop speakers.

i went into sound on laptop, and went to playback tab.
under this there are 4 pictures.one is the speakers for laptop(which is set as default) two other pics are of flat screen tv's, and last pic is of a thing like an ampliier shaped like a vcr.

The 2 pics of tv's, one has (Digital output device HDMI, high definition audio device working) wrote beside it.
The other says (Realtek HDMI output, realtek high definition audio working) beside it

Which one of these should be set as default? ive tried all but still no sound from tv.
i've 2 hdmi slots on back of tv. Should laptop hdmi be put in the in or out slot?
i dont know a lot about pc's/electronics but i managed to get the laptop hooked up and displaying on tv, all i need is sound now.
i will try attach pics of settings on laptop i set.

    Thanks all..

Right click on speakers down by your clock then click playback devices and select hdmi.

try each of the two hdmi outputs in turn with each of the two hdmi sockets on the tv - that's four configurations

one of these should work - hth
