If base of tank is sitting on rock you would need mesh about 8mm thick, for the walls 12 mm thick rods, 90 degree bend with about a metre of it set in the floor and 1.5 metre up in the wall. Put one of these every 40- 50cm along the walls. These need to be tied with a length of 12mm bar along the wall about 1m above the floor. Dept spec is (was) much heavier than this. Make sure the concrete is vibrated properly too.

I know other posters will come along and say this isn't enough steel, but that is what is being done round here since grants went. If you've hit rock, go deeper and put a pad of gravel about 50cm thick over the rock, pack it in before laying the floor. I presume you are going 2.4m deep tank?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

You only need the gravel if you had a rock breaker in to break solid rock, it is to form a pad between the rock and the floor of the tank. If you didn't do it, the floor of the tank could crack due to subsidence. Hope this helps.

the rabbit sand is a better job and would be cheaper.a guy built his house on rock and told me he put down rabbit sand down first no cracks in his house.
