Kindle to Australia

Hey all...

I really want to get a kindle, i spend way too much on books and they take up soo much space!!

However I'm living in Oz at the mo (orig from Ireland). I'm wondering If i bought the Kindle from UK and got it shipped home and then posted over to me will it work over here??
Finding it hard to get one here..

Has anyone any suggestions...

Just buy one from there, they'll ship it to aus for you.

I'm in NZ and bought one from there the other day, ordered late tuesday night, had it in my hands friday morning.

U bought from Amazon.com?? Did it cost alot extra for shipping etc?? And do you find it easy to get books on it??!

Yes. I think shipping was $20 USD, which is expensive, but like I said it came in 2 days and was fully tracked so it's not so bad. Yeah easy as to get books on it, you'll have no probs. It's a fantastic device

I didn't bother with the 3g upgrade as I just load it up with books over Wifi anyway, so for me there was no point.

Thanks for your help!!! Just looking at prices now and realise I don't need 3G either!!

If i didnt have wifi i can always download to my computer and then transfer??!!

that will work but if you get one definitely get the free calibre software - has many uses for kindle (and any e-reader) - the one essential bit of software really.
