    heyo,

weird issue the last few days,

seems to be an odd audio warble (would be the only word i can use to describe it) while watching tv, happens every minute or so, only on specific channels though, e.g. Comedy Central but not E4, and a few others...

basic digital package, video connected by scart to tube philips tv, audio going thru hi-fi. happens whether or not broadband is in use.

    any ideas?

    thanks,
    m

I assume that like me you have the volume down to zero on the TV and the sound is coming through external speakers.

Turn down the volume on the amp (or just switch it off) and turn the volume up on the TV to see if the problem is in the signal coming from the UPC box, this will eliminate the amp. as a potential cause of the problem. If the problem persists then try reseating the SCART cable at each end in case one of the audio pins is making a bad connection. That's assuming that the audio feed to the amp. comes from the TV and not direct to the amp. from the UPC - I can't do it this way because if I do the picture and audio are out of sync. so I assume you are feeding the sound to the amp from the TV in which case the SCART connections could be the cause of the problem.

I've noticed the same issue specifically on comedy & comedy +1. Sounds like the audio is overly compressed. Warble is an good description. Been like this for at least a week.

Yeah, getting this on Comedy too. On MMDS. Only noticed it last night during an add break and then couldn't help hearing it all the time.

Haven't noticed it on other channels yet.

+1 on this... Have had the same warbly thing for a week or more, experiencing it right now on Comedy Central +1

It's happening on sky also and as far as I know, upc take their comedy central feeds off the sky platform.
