price difference for crowns

Hi I need a crown done and have gotten a quote from my regular dentists clinic of 900 euro. I rang around and he seems to be the dearest with one place only 500. Is there different types of crown? Could mine be using better quality materials? I have no problem going to another dentist as the girl I usually go to has left…
