Hi guys just lloking for a bit of presepective on this one!

I recently left a job where I worked for 2 years for another one- more suited to my line of work. There was a barman in my previous job thats worked there for about 15 yrs. We got on great while I worked there.. always had great fun at work and he really made the hours fly. I started to fancy( ugh I hate that word!) him after a few weeks of workng together... its hard not to he's funny, smart, charming and so down to earth but there's one ''problem'' he's 38 and I'm 24!

I would never dream of asking him out while I was working there, (don't agree with mixing work and pleasure) but I met him on a few random occasions since, one being yesterday and we talked for ages. We just seem to 'click'.. I'm in a total head warp over it..I don't think he has even considered me as a love interest because of the age gap so I have hesistations about persueing it!

I have gone out with old guys before(30 and 31) and much perfer them but maybe this is a stetch too far?? I dont want to come across as a idiot either if I ask him out and he says no. Oh and hes definaltely single!

So i guess I'm asking for your opinions folks, esp from people that have been in situations similar. Would you proceed? and if so how so!

If you really like him, Id just bite the bullet and ask him. Life is too short to have regrets and if he refuses, just laugh it off and move on.

If a woman that much younger than me asked me out, I'd be delighted! :)

If you're good enough together, the age gap will be irrelavant. If it becomes a negative factor, then there are underlying problems.

I'd say go for it and best of luck to you both.

That's all well and good in the movies but I definitely wouldn't agree with that.

That kind of age gap at that age can be quite a difference.

They are at different stages of their lives and once teh initial honeymoon period wears off they will most likely want different things. (He will presumably want a family sooner rather than later - the OP may not. The OP could well decide she wants to travel the world for a few years)

I am a male 35 year old and I wouldn't get involved with a 24 year old for a serious relatonship (of course never say never but i think it would be unlikely)

Saying all that - everyone is different and for this particular guy it may well be exactly what he's looking for.

So on that basis OP I would suggest just go for it. If he says no then he says no - it's no biggie. He may well say yes also.
