Cat Gone Missing

My brother's Cat hasn't been back to the house in over 24 hours, she does go off from time to time but she normally comes back within a few hours. She was very heavily pregnant and my brother said he did see her around the back of our house where he thinks she was nesting. Is it possible she may go off and have the kittens…

Is it possible she may go off and have the kittens somewhere, how long would she have to wait before she can come back?
