    What's a Persona 4?

Was planning on not picking up persona 4 until I beat P3P but it looks like I better try finishing it up before this comes out. The temptation will be too great.

It's a role playing game from atlus about a series of disappearances in a rural Japanese town. You play as a transfer student who gets involved with his friends in the mystery.

Persona: Trinity Soul was pretty good, so will definitely give this a whirl

Atlus are the production company? I don't think I know them.

It sounds kind of interesting, was it a PC game or is it one of those visual novels (ie. not a game at all)?

Well Atlus were the developer and it was on the ps2. Don't know how much it goes for these days though. It like half visual novel and the other half is a dungeon crawler.

It cost 20 euro on release and came with an OST CD.

And it also happens to be possibly the BEST JRPG on the PS2 -- hell, it beats shades out of most current-gen JRPGs for plot/setting, immersion factor & battle system.

How have you NOT heard of it?

Persona 3 portable for the psp is coming out at the end of the month if your interested in the series. As been said the recent persona games have probably been some of the best jrpg's to come out in years. Not that I've finished either.

That wouldn't be difficult considering most JRPGs are terrible.

Probably because I had a Gamecube. I missed all of the major PS2 releases.

    GameCube was discontinued in 2007.

Persona 4 came out in 2009.

    You have no excuses.

Also agreed, most JRPGs are indeed terrible.
And I'll amend Persona 4's qualities to "being better than most current-gen RPGs, both Japanese and Western".

    Read Gamespite's take on it.

Yeah Persona 4 was my last PS2 game I got (even took the thing down from the attic to play it). Pretty excellent stuff!

It's a fantastic game. Really fantastic.

I have my doubts as to the quality of the anime. Don't know why they didn't use the manga MC's name either.

I'm super excited for it! I've never heard of the studio before (AIC & ASTA, or something?), but going by the one promo image that's out, and seeing Shadow!Yosuke's face animated, I fear that the quality won't be too high...

    Very well.

I'll add it to the list of great games I missed out on due to not owning a PS2.

    It's a long list.

Ok i have to finish the game before I watch this.

By the trailer looks like it's a pretty direct adaptation?

Looks good though. Persona 4 is probably my favourite game of all time, so will most certainly dig this.
