    Hey,

I'm writing for the first time as some one who is more than a bit curious about the Bi scene in Galway. Im a guy, research student but I couldnt face being fully out in the club scene in town. Tempted to go to gig soc in NUIG, I hear they are great and welcoming. I am more inclined to a casual chat, maybe one on one with another lad my own age, early 20s in the same boat as me?!?
    Thanks guys!

    B

    Hey!

GiGsoc's actually finished for this year cos of exams and such. You could try shOUT. It's a youth group for 15-23 year olds so not sure if it'll fit you age-wise, though in any case it'll be good for meeting people. I've heard good things about it, though have never been myself. This is their website: http://www.lgbtyouthgalway.com/
There's no real bi scene as such. If you want to avoid the club scene, as in Dignity, then maybe try one of the gay bars: the Galway Shawl on Prospect Hill or Wildes on Dominick Street. Though I can't imagine it'd be much fun going to them on your own to be honest. If you do, go on a friday or saturday night; they're pretty dead during the week. I can't say I'm in the same boat as you, since I'm openly gay, but feel free to ask if you have any more questions. Hope this helps!

    Hi K,

Thanks a mill for the response! Much appreciated! Just from reading other threads I have seen ShOUT mentioned a good bit so maybe they would be worth following up on, worth a shot at least! Ya, heading out to pubs solo might not be the most ideal plan! Il hang in there for the mo anyway and see what happens. but thanks for the info, its a big help! Cheers!! :)
