    CPU Intel® Core™ i3 processor 350M (2.26GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 3MB L2 Cache)

    Operating System Genuine Windows® 7 Professional 32 bit (OEM) and Genuine Windows® 7 Professional 64 bit (OEM)

    Screen Size 14.0” Widescreen TFT Active Matrix XGA 200NIT CSV (1366x768) resolution with LED backlighting

    Memory 4GB DDR3 (2GB + 2GB) (1066MHz) expandable to 8GB

    Storage 500GB (5400rpm) SATA

    Graphics ATI® M92XTX-M2 512MB (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145)
    It has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145 card with 512MB of it's own dedicated memory (VRAM).

    You usually only get shared memory when the graphics card is built into the CPU (intel i3 in this case) and both it and CPU use the same RAM.

    The manufacturers make it harder to understand than it really should be.

    Thanks Hal;
    So that's good right? I need dedicated graphics. I have dedicated graphics? I can bring back the PC tomorrow as I only bought it today. I am a computer luddite as you can tell. :D

    I've only just seen the price, €1133 AUD, converted to Euro that's €825, it's expensive.

    There's no Amazon (the online shop:rolleyes:) in Australia?? I was gonna look at other models for price comparison.

    I've never used the programs you've mentioned GIS, CAD or SketchUp, I've linked to the system requirements.

    ATI Radeon 5145 Spec

    It looks fine for GIS but there will probably be lags if doing complicated 3D models with CAD and sketchup.

    An ATI 5650 would be a better choice of graphics card.

    Just as a guide in price, this Toshiba is much better than your Toshiba and €165 cheaper.
