Paddies weekend the slave cylinder went on my SAAB 95, it's fairly big job, gear box out. So I rang around a few clutch specialists and decided to go with one who seemed to know his stuff over the phone.

The guy had the car for over a week, when I got the car back, I couldn't get 5th gear. So I had to bring the car back and we repaired that.

While I was there I noticed the battery cover was missing and the battery tray was on back to front. He went into the workshop and returned with the cover, I said I'd turn the tray around it's such a quick job that I say I'd do it myself.
While I was fixing this, I noticed the plastic sump shield was missing and a inspection window cover in the clutch bell housing is also missing and the car has developed an oil leak between the engine and transmission.

I sent the guy a text on Friday to let him know what I found.

I contacted the guy to be met with a barrage of abuse. Claiming the engine was 'caked' in oil when it arrived. He made comments about the age and mileage of the car as some excuse to the parts missing.

He is a big guy and he knows it, saying that if I had anything further to say to come down and 'he'd sort me out'.

I'm disgusted with this treatment and feel the only plus to come from this is to let others know. I'm sure others have been treated well but this is the treatment I've received.

Not sure what to do, other than chalk it up to experience. He knows he holds all the cards, I can't prove the parts are missing and also that the oil leak wasn't there prior to this work.

    Feel ripped off.

He's hardly going to slap you :)

In fairness are you sure the leak is a new development?

I think he might, he was very aggressive on the phone and I'm not prepared to find out.

The reason I knew the slave cylinder was gone was there was a drip of clutch fluid coming from the bell housing and the peddle having no pressure. Now in the same place where the clutch fluid was the oil is now pooling. Aside from that, losing the parts in his workshop he a bit much.
