    Hi folks,

I was wondering does anyone have any suggestions about celebrating Midsummer in Sweden.
We plan to fly into Stockholm and go from there!
    All recommandations are greatly appreciated!

Nothing quite like the midsummers, I can warmly recommend experiencing it at least once in your life :D

When are you flying in? Keep in mind that the midsummer weekend kicks off early on the friday 23rd of june? Shops close early etc, so what you need to do is to get out of Stockholm as soon as possible. That's pretty much the done thing, stockholm itself is pretty empty around that weekend.:)

You'd might want to look up small towns around the lake region and try to find a nice place to stay for the festivities that night. Most towns have festivals with live music and it's usually good fun, best option would be to get an invite into a swedish home or summer cottage for the authentic celebrations. Still tho, most open air midsummer festivals are really nice too! All swedes usually speak english too and after few drinks even the ones that claim not to are usually fluent :D;)

Might want to check hotels and stuff from here http://www.sweden.se/eng/Home/Tourism/
