    Hi,

I've an '01 Passat which has failed the NCT because of:
    - Track Rod Ends - Worn (Offside/Front)
    - CV Boot - Frayed/Cut (Offside/Front)

I called a local garage (Westside in Kilcock) and they're saying it may be around 250 EUR to have this sorted, does that make any sense or is that a rip-off?

cv boot would cost around 25 euro (to change that need to take off cv joint) , track rod end (I presume same as tie rod end) cost 35 -45 euro, need around an hour or two (depend of bolt conditions) + wheel alignment cost up to 50 euro . So price for parts around 70 (average) + wheel alignment (50) a.. so around 120... well ... garages charge usually around 60 -80 euro an hour . I think a bit expensive. Try shop around. pretty simple job, if know what to do... id say could be 50 euro cheaper.
