Hi our house has a neff gas hob and since we moved in it is turning my pots a sooty black colour. The soot then gets on my hands, clothes when cleaning it off. Any ideas what is causing this?? My husband bought the gas in yellow can - butane should we look at Calor or Flo gas for a different gas to use?

    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

it sounds like the wrong jets are in your hob - get a professional to sort it - this can be quite dangerous -

you probably have nat gas hob and you are firing it on LPG or butane -

Please dont use that hob until you get a registered gas installer to have a look. Sounds very very dangerous, I am not registered but i am certified. This is a really dangerous situation. I cannot stress how dangerous your situation is. Please see the rgii.ie website. In january some people died in a Cork hotel i think from a similiar situation.

Incomplete combustion produces Carbon Monoxide. Replacement injectors should have been supplied with the hob for the installer to change over.
