Personally I think it's excellent. A good all round laptop. What will you be using it for as the graphics card isn't going to set the world on fire. I'd also prefer 4gb of ram but you could upgrade that yourself. Other then that I like it.

    Thanks cookie1977

I would mainly be using it for multimedia, browsing & the occasional gaming. I wouldnt be doing a whole pile of gaming on it but see as a good deal in getting 25% off a decent laptop

The value is alright, nothing amazing. You are compromising on the CPU (first gen i3), RAM and HDD size in order to get the GT420M graphics card. I say that because if you don't need a discrete card, you'll get a second gen Core i5 for similar kind of money.

Even then, the GT420M will do a bit of gaming, but it is nothing special; last gen and below mid-range.

FYI: I got this http://cgi.ebay.ie/Dell-XPS-15-15-6-Laptop-Corei3-3GB-320GB-Sealed-/160570151707?pt=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item2562ba131b delivered for 513 euro. Same spec it seems. Other people have bought it received and left good feedback, if you wanted to go the ebay route and save a few bob. Don't think it's refurbished either, not mentioned on the description.

Sorry to de-rail the thread but have you ever played any source games on the XPS? (Left 4 dead 2, team fortress 2) and how did they perform?

Apologies for bumping an old thread but pretty much need to ask the same question as the OP.

How are people finding the DellXPS L502x? Wondering at this stage should I wait for the next revision as this latest version has been out since April or thereabouts.

PC World told me it was being discontinued but I can't find any info on this.
