games have just started for us in Kildare...the school I help out with have an U10 team again this yr and have entered their first ever snr team in.

Last yr the U10 played & won Div 6 and got promoted to Div 5. So this yr they are being asked to play 13 a side in Div 5 when it was 11 a side in Div 6. Now I know at club level to keep with Go games rules we only play 11 a side up to U12 so why is it so different at school competitions.

To confuse us even more, the Snr team is in Div 6 this year as its their first yr and they are being asked to play 9 a side.

The snr team has about 19 players to choose from so it makes it very difficult to give the kids a good run out in each match. Its 25 min a side though which gives us 10 extra mins over Go Game matches to give players a run out but its crazy to ask kids to play 9 a side on nearly a full size pitch when at U10 level they are cramming 13 a side teams into a smaller pitch.

Does anyone know any reason why the school competitions dont stick to Go Games Rules?
