Hi, I'm doing my first homebrew and seem to have a bit of a problem. My mix doesn't appear to be bubbling at all - is this normal, and if not is there anything I can do to fix it?

    Thanks a million in advance...

It can take a couple of days to get going. How long has it been since you added the yeast? Do you have any foam forming on the top?

The yeast was added yesterday evening, and there is foam forming. A good bit less worried now, thanks!

Sounds like everything is going just fine.

I had similar worries a few weeks ago, never saw any bubbles but the beer fermented away nicely.

All seems to have worked out ok, currently conditioning in bottles but early taste test seemed ok.

I think in my case I just had a dodgy seal around the airlock due to a rough seam on the plastic moulded airlock.

Probably the lid is not fully sealed fully or there is a gap that allowing gas is escaping. Nothing to worry about, use the hydrometer as a measure of fermentation not the airlock

If you hold your ear close to the container you can sometimes hear it bubbling.
