how to decide what i want

Ive found the challenge of life is not trying to get projects in on time, or trying to make sure you get more money, its trying to identify what you want for yourself.

You would think of al people, you would know yourself best, but i find it so difficult.

    My situation is:

Ive been made redundant from a good job in a large multinational. the job was in IT.
I was bored for a long time, and planning to get a different job so although this is an inconvinience, it really means i just have to accelerate my search for a new job.

But thats just it, what do i want to do? I know i want to move into a different area of IT ( was in databases, sick of it).
I have applied for a development position in the same company. It would be good to get some dev experience, and as i have no experience in it, the only place i could get experience and not have to accept half my current wage is in the same company ( internal transferr).

Or maby i should just take redundancy, and get another job in another big multinanional.

But, maby a big multinational is not the answer and i should look for a small company, work with databases there and really really challenge myself, or see if im up to the challenge.

How do you decide what you want, when you have a few potential choices?
