    Hello,

I've my NCT tomorrow but now I can't find the appointment letter. I do have an e-mail with the booking details. Could I print that off and show it at the reception ?

    Thanks

Just turn up at your appointed time, they will have your details on their system

They will have all your details to hand RobertM so once you bring your car along for the scheduled time you will be away in a hack! Remember to remove wheel trims and ensure there is no seriously caked on mud stuck to the bottom of your car, in particular around brake lines and suspension bushings. To be on the safe side I took off each wheel on mine the day before the test and attacked it with a powerhose and an old toothbrush!

Also ensure seats and boot are relatively clutter free. Other than that best of luck with it and hope all goes well for you.

You don't need any evidence of the appointment, I did mine a few weeks ago and didn't have a printout of the appointment. I just handed over the registration cert. (not sure if you actually have to bring this but I did) and my driving licence and they processed me no bother.

Don't forget to take off the hubcaps (or in the case of VW and Audi alloys the little disc covering the nuts) and they will need to look at the spare tyre so make sure the boot is reasonably tidy!

They won't need to look at the spare tyre, it's not part of the test, but they will need to look at the boot structure for serious rust. That's the only reason they require you clear the boot of anything that would obstruct them. Leaving a few small items in the boot wouldn't be a problem.
