I was just outside in my back garden in Palmerstown having a smoke and I saw these 6 orange lights in the sky. They moved more like helicopters than airplanes and just drifted around before dissapearing in clouds.
Anyone else see anything like this or knows what they were?

Obviously I'm aware this sounds like I'm stoned out of my head.

I'm begining to think posting in after hours was a mistake.

Ok I admit I am stoned - but I saw what I saw.

    And I'm not saying I saw UFO's I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation - I'm just wondering.

Ocular tumour seems far fetched, so it's most likely a localised aurora borealis in the Palmerstown area.

Every weekend on boards, usually in the Dublin City forum, a poster starts a thread thinking we're being invaded by UFOs or the Chinese or whatever when it turns out to be Chinese Lanterns floating in the sky. It's a relatively new thing done in Ireland, usually at parties. People set them off to go up in the sky.

A 'sticky' is a thread that is 'stuck' at the top of the forum. Put there so people will read them first before posting. Like charters..

So to quickly defuse someone's panic that we're being invaded or the poster is losing their mind, a sticky would put them at ease straight away. And save other poster clicking on a crap thread.

Ok - that make perfect sense now.

I honestly don't think they were chinese lanterns though.

The Chinese are distressing the normal folk with their lanterns. Someone should say something.
