so, the washing machine made a loud bang & started to dance around the kitchen, so i took it apart and found a broken spring that was supposed to be holding the drum in place. It should be easy to replace once I get the right part. any ideas on where to get one either new or secondhand in Galway (preferably on Monday/Tuesday)

it's a whirlpool washer dryer, i'm not sure exactly what model.

    thanks as always.

I buy them online from espares.co.uk. About a third to a quarter of the price of buying them in Galway including shipping, but takes about a week to receive them.

I was told before that I could buy parts in Galway from Elektro spares in Ballybane but never had much luck with them. They have a website with contact details: http://www.elektrospares.com/tx/contact.asp

We are dumping one,)Zanussi) pm me if you want the springs or any other parts from it, you are welcome to them. I imagine all springs are interchangeable.

thanks for the offer, sadly i don't think the parts are standard, I'll take a pic of the part tomorrow and post it up.

OK, I have repaired our own machines a few times, fitting bearings are one long pain in a Zanussi lol, but it gives an insight in to how they are put together.Good chance they will fit.

Try conboy electrical on new road. He repairs washing machines etc so im sure he would have some parts in stock. worth a try anyway.
