Iphone3 turning off

    MY iphone3 turns itself off when I try to connect to the internet, sometimes, not always. It would normally have plenty of battery life when it happens, when I turn it back on the battery icon is often almost empty. Seems to work ok if it is connected to the charger.

    It almost gives the impression that it's a battery problem, except it only turns off when I connect to the internet, not when I'm doing anything else.

    Can anyone shed any light?

    thats a strange one, is it a 3G or 3GS, i cant remember how you do it but theres an app or tool ya can run that will diagnose any battery problems

    It's a 3g. Bit of a strange one alright! I googled but couldn't come up with anything :(
