Apparently they are going to close the road this time & set up a diversion. Does anyone know why or for how long ?.

    From Co council website...

TRAFFIC DISRUPTION ON THE R336 AT BEARNA
Tuesday, 12th April to Thursday, 21st April 2011 inclusive
Galway County Council wishes to advise that there will be disruption on the R336
Coast Road West of Galway City at Bearna Village due to road overlay works from
Tuesday 12th April to Thursday 21st April inclusive.
These works will be carried out at two locations between the Moycullen Road
Junction and the entrance to the Shopping Centre in Bearna Village and approx
1 km West of the village.
Whilst there will be traffic delays associated with these works, in order to reduce
such delays and minimise inconvenience for road users, a diversion via the Bearna
Inner Bypass road will operate from Tuesday 12th April whilst works in the village are
underway. In order to further minimise inconvenience for road users, work will
commence after 9.00am each day and local access will be maintained.
Galway County Council regrets any delays and inconvenience due to these
    essential works.
