Missed dole meeting

Recently I left my job. I had 2 meetings with the social to explain why and I missed both of them. Will they hold this against me? The truth is I was under a lot of stress and my head was gone. I missed other unrelated meetings too eg counsellor etc. And for a couple of days did t know what day it was !! This had nothing to do with me losing my job.

Will the social welfare hold this against me when deciding about my job?
Should I get a doctors cert to say I was under stress?

You're certainly not doing yourself any favours.

The welfare officers may forgive you for missing your meetings, but they will wonder whether you are genuinely available for work & jobhunting when you seem to be incapable of functioning.

Disability allowance may be more suitable.

    Don't worry about it.

A lot of people who are ending up on the dole are really shell shocked. (The shock of losing their job - and usually the stress of the bullying to "manage them out" )

You can be straight out and tell them you've been in a state. They're used to it. They might give you a slap on the hand - but they won't murder you over it.

Welfare officers are used to this.
Once they see you are genuine you might get a telling off but you'll be fine

    See a GP anyway.
And bring your receipt along to show the welfare officer you'd taking action here

OP, don't fret over it, just bring in your doctor's cert and also explain to them that you are stressed. It is a stressful situation, don't be angry at yourself, it takes time to get your head around it, best of luck.
