Many here doing the North Tipp Sprint tri at the end of the month? Lane details are now out. Im in wave 6 of 7. Ive attached a spreadsheet of the details from what i got from copying/pasting their pdf. I havent cleaned it up so there could be errors but feel free to check on your lane. Might be wise to double check on their pdf too to be sure.

Wave 5 for me, hopefully i have estimated better this year. I was off the back of the group 25m in last year and had a very lonely swim.

I'm in wave 4. Hopefully I'll have a better swim than Port Laois.

What swim times did ye estimate? After last year a put a cautious 14:30 I think...

Hmm, I am slightly worried I may have just made it into wave 5... ahwell, fast feet to follow is good providing I don't go off the back :)

Some very fast swimmers in wave 7 or else some very optimistic swimmers in wave 7 if you only made 6

I put down 15 mins so wave 4 sounds about right if you're in wave 5 on 14.30.

Mr slow swimmer is in wave 1:D

I plan to really work over the next few weeks to get that time down, did someone say there is a cut off time on the swim ?

Is the bike course different than last year? I was sure there was big hill on it last year:confused:

It looks like its back to the 2009 bike course which is a straight out and back to Toomevara on the old N7. From my recollection its fast. Steady out and hammer back in!

Bet of luck to All, hope the sun comes out for ye :)

Bambaata you stand out a bit there in wave 6...

Looking at the elevation from last year and this year the bike 'looks' harder IMO, however I presume its a decent road and we won't be getting stuck behind tractors again. All downhill on the way back too, negative split ftw.

ah yeah forgot about the bloody tractors! Lost a fair bit of time with them last year. Had worked hard to get past a few people only to have to sit up for what felt like an age!

Hoping i can get moved to wave 7 but wont count on it. I can imagine they have plenty of people wrecking their heads!!

Looking forward to this. Only a short few more training sessions before it now!

Looks like a tough first half on the bike and a fast second half with the winds the way they are supposed to be:
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Temperatures will still reach the mid to high teens this weekend, though it will be somewhat windier than of late, with moderate to fresh easterly winds. Most of northern half of the country will stay dry and bright, but heavy and prolonged showers will affect both Munster and Leinster from time to time.

Eddie, I am pretty sure you have been bumped up into Wave 7. Check it out on the day of the race.

The cycle route is fast alright. It is back to the original route that was closed last year because of the motorway construction. The road (Old Dublin Road) is quiet since the motorway opened and much of the surface has been newly tarmaced.

There are a few gradual drags on it but nothing too steep. There are also 2 quiet roundabouts to negotiate. Get to the turn around point and you will fly it home. Some people might even find themselves pedaling out in places.

Great day out with fab weather - the trisuit tan / sunburn makes it's first appearance of 2011. Some serious bike bling on show today. A bike course with a tough first half and a really fast second half - my watch says around 22 mins first 10km and 14-15 mins for the second 10km. Hilly run was tough in the heat. Congrats to the organisers on well run event. One minor thing though, the separation of the pedestrian route into the pool viewing area and the bike in route needs some work.

my first triathlon and I would like to congratulate nenagh on a well run and enjoyable event. Great bunch of marshalls, very friendly and would endear me to the sport. Nice spread afterwards which was a welcome tank filler.
    well done to all concerned.
was nervous starting in the pool but all went well. flew back in on the bike and the run very nearly came to a sudden end when some locals wanted to started herding animals along the boreen at the top of the climb. luckily the marhall was able to persuade them to delay it a couple of hours
any idea if results will be posted on the website or texted out?

Well organised event. Twas a great day for it. Swim marshals were spot on, they stopped people to let people through and let common sense prevail with passing mid-lane. Bike was tough to the turnaround straight into the wind and i was spinning out on the way! Run is a tough enough course. Organisers and marshals were great but unfortunately i was disappointed with my own performance. Swim and bike went fine but run was a disaster. Twas all about the stitches! Pity but sure there's always another day. Would certainly recommend the event. Second year there and i cant think of anything to fault it. Very handy to have showers for afterwards with lots of parking right beside the venue. Entry was also very reasonable and the platter of sandwiches and cakes were very welcome! One positive for me, i have a mean farmers tan going on!

+1 to the above. The marshalls were bang on and the event was well organised. I had a good day out. Touch and go whether I got a PB or not (ended up not - 1:14:50 vs 1:13:46); but I went well and am happy enough. I should have tried swimming by people mid lane. I'll know for next time. Didn't get any sunburn/tan - that's what I get for slip/slap/slop!
