Did anyone notice this on the satellite images this morning/know what it is? To me it looks like a fairly big fire somewhere east of Athlone but i'm no expert:p

This is caused by moist warmer air being thrust up high over the Slieve Bloom Mtns and condensing as it hits the colder air aloft. This similar situation often gives way to hefty thunderstorms over Europe when air pressure is lower and land surfaces warmer.
