I saw a woman the other day wearing a black teeshirt. The large writing on it said: Mountjoy Day Release Programme.

Is this true, or is it a joke? (Can't see it as funny, but that might be my sense of humour.)

(Do move if this isn't the right forum :))

People who wear NYPD SWAT Tee Shirts are not actually in the NYPD SWAT team if they are sitting in a pub in Dundrum..usually.

Yes indeed they are real. The people you see wearing Leinster jerseys all play for Leinster as well.

Now collect your pointy hat and take up residence in the corner.

    Thanks.

It's hardly something that one would aspire to, is it?

Unlike being a graduate of Harvard or member of Leinster team.

I know its a joke but to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it was real.

The kind of person who wears a t-shirt like this is the kind of person who hopes people look at them and think "wow, she is really edgy with her cool t-shirt and it kind of glorifies crime".

It's much the same as people who wear a Cork jersey knowing that people will look at them and think "wow, look at that opinionated douche bag with a sense of self importance that would shame a rock star".

    or

Mothers who but their little daughters "porn star" or "cum dumpster" t-shirts.

In all fairness, the person who is wearing such a shirt might just see the funny side in it, Or the person wearing a Cork jersey may be proud of there county. Who are you to judge them as they are unlikely to be involved with crime?......... the criminal justice system is the real joke and we all know it:D......!

I was actually gonna buy a T-Shirt i seen in a shop not too long ago. It was a light blue t-shirt with the Garda crest on the left breast. On the back it said GARDA in yellow lettering. I'm no massive geek at all, and these days I generally avoid wearing any branding and stick to plain or camouflaged clothing.

But I was tempted. It really looked quite good. Then I realised I'm often around the Gardaì and will increasingly be at the scene of incidents and such* so although I don't look like a Garda, and although the Gardaì themselves probably won't give a shite, i'd probably end up confusing some bewildered passers-by. :(

    *until they catch me!

I have something along those lines from years ago:)

I always thought those tshirts were quite funny and mine reminds me of an epic holiday to San Fran :)

To say my tshirt or ones similar glorifies crime is a bit of an over exaggeration imo !

    Over-exaggeration is the new black.
