VW Passat & Mobility Adaption - Faults

A friend of mine has recently bought a vw passat, and was delighted with it and immediately left it in to a specialist who fits the disabililty adoption gear.

It was handed back to him but all was far from right. Warning lights were coming on that shouldn't have been etc. Something that is being bleamed on the infra red system.

VW & this Other man have together checked things over and each is saying its not their fault.

VW said to my friend to give your man another chance to sort it out. My friend is away for a week.

My Question is this: When he comes back and if nothing is resolved and no one accepting responsibility for this, what should he do.

My own adivce to my friend was to go and see a solicitor and meantime to log all dates and comments and take photos of damage that was caused when this adoption unit was being fitted.

And to demand a replacement car from the guy who fitted the adoption unit while things are being sorted out as it seems the problems only started then.

What's the best way for him to handle this bearing in mind this guy has been thru hell and back due to a tragic car accident (not his fault) and is very vulnerable and feels like giving up at this stage.
