Are you living the life, or are you sticking to or picking a life?

What I mean is are you sticking to a career just the sake of sticking to a career, was there something that you've always wanted to do in your life?

What do you define as living the life?

I'm putting in a few years with an organization that works closely with law enforcement agencies. I like the job but it's not what i wanted to do and only really took it as a stepping stone. I've been working hard building up contacts and my goal is to try get into the FBI within the next 2-3 years. If i fail with that there's another job i want within the UN.

Me? I punch the clock on Mondays. I know all the jokes at this stage & tell them the best way I can.

Come Friday, I collect my cheque & you don't see me for dust!

Lucky for me, I've got nice hobbies & a great family.:)

These define me more than anything else really...

I'll be out of this "career" by next week. I think. Thank God.

It ebbs and flows for me. For the past year or so up to last month I was sticking it out. Made a big change of career and had to pay my dues with studing and massive pay decrease so it was tough but knew there'd be a light at the end.

Now loving my job, so don't feel the need to go crazy at the weekend to have fun but also back up to the wage I was at before so have more money for the finer things in life. Give it another couple of years though and I'll be looking for the next step so will have to make sacrifices again.

Hence ebbs and flows - the things you want change and hense your satisfaction with your lot in life.
