Toilet Cistern not filling.

    Hi folks,

Downstairs toilet in brother's house not filling up. We thought it was that the water had been cut off but that was Tuesday and everything else working fine (2 showers, 3 other toilets) so it's just the downstairs toilet that's not filling.

Any ideas what might be causing it?

    Thanks.

If the cold water tap in the same bathroom is working fine it may be an air-lock but if its not then depending on which type of filler you have its more than likely crud and debris caught in the strainer or at the orifice. Also if its an older style plastic arm and ball assembly it could be the rubber diaphragm inside the assembly gone hard and needs replacing.

i would agree with this. To make life simpler it might be worth just changing the water inlet valve for a new one.
