Weird light on dash behavior

    Noticed the other day when I have full beam head lights the dash board displays dipped head lights (i.e. the light on dash isn't illuminated). When I switch to dipped head lights the full beam indicator on dash board turns on....

    Car is toyota avensis 2002 old shape.

    The light on dash is very dim when illuminated though. During the day you can't see it.

    Any ideas? I have one light I need to replace in the dash so might be doing this. Is it a bulb issue? Seems more like a crossed circuit.

    Have you checked all the lights outside to see that they are all working? Could be a bulb out causing problems.

    All the lights are working fine. I have had a light out in the car before and its not behaved like this.
