Re-mapped TD6 RR

Well I got the re-map done yesterday on the Range Rover. Main reason for getting it done was to see if I could get more fuel efficiency. The added power is a bonus. Was told the usual gain from a TD6 is around the 225bhp plus 85lbft torque. It doesn't feel like that.

    Pre remap figures:
    2 Months trip tracking - 23.9 mpg
    2 Weeks trip tracking - 24.7 mpg

    Remap figures after 1 day
2 months trip tracking - 23.9 mpg (this may change over time but slowly)
    1 days trip tracking - 26.2 mpg

I'll give it 2 weeks of normal driving to see what sort of mpg gains I get, if any and report back.

Power wise there is a difference but it's not as noticeable as I thought it would be. I guess 2.5 tonnes is still a lot whether you have 177bhp or 225bhp.

Subscribed as interested to see what improvements (if any) can be achieved on a vehicle of this size/weight.

I went to the Leinster4x4 offroad day last Sunday which brought the short trip mpg down to 20mpg :). I reset on Monday and after arriving at work this morning I was at 26.1mpg. The weekend brings the shorter trips to shops, kids footbal etc so I'll update on Monday.

I'm also starting to notice the extra power more. I think I expected V8 power under me when I first tried it..

Weight is not the only issue, the transmission takes up a huge amount of power just to run it, heavy duty stuff so it takes a bit of brute force to get it all moving. What sort of map did you get? and who did it? You shoudl be able to get different setups for different needs, like more outright power, more torque or more mpg

I had the map done by Joe out in TDR Performance in Coolock. What I should be seeing is this
Bhp 177 - 205 (Although Joe did mention 225 but I'd have noticed this)
    Torque 288 ft/lb to 324 ft/lb.

This is what is claimed. Just to close out on this thread.
Current Short trip mpg is 24.7
Current Long Trip mpg is 23.9

This is exactly what I was getting prior to the remap. That mixed with the fact that the power increase is not overly noticeable leads me to believe that TDR Performance maps are not great. I have to back to Joe before stating this outright. I'd like him to have a say.
