    Hi,
somebody keyed my car along the rear door, and while the scratch is not too deep it is noticeable for selling purposes. Its a navy blue Nissan and I was wondering what options are available for repair....touch-up kit, special wax ect. or is it a respray job. I got a small bottle of the original paint in a motor factors. Whats the best repair option available.?

    NOOoooo don't paint yourself!

First instance, try a scratch removing polish/cream. Prob get one in halfords. I had one before (maybe called G20, but I can't be sure) and it removed nearly all scratches of my old black clio, it's excellent stuff.

If that doesn't work, bring it to a shop. Shouldn't cost too much to fill a hairline scratch like that.

If you paint it yourself, you can kiss goodbye ~15% value of your car! Self paints never work out. Unless PaintDoctor is passing through here and tells you otherwise of course...

    Cheers m8,
that's good advice.....I did test a tiny drop of the paint under the mat in the boot...well outa sight and I can see the problem....it shows. The kit I got in Aldi a few weeks back sounds like what you mention...called Kratzer-EX and it does do a surprisingly good job for what it is. Its a 2 part cream...abrasive and finish....Its no miracle, but for 5 euro what else can I expect?. If I walk past he car real quick I can hardly see the scratch.

I've a couple of bad scratchs on my car and don't really want to chance touching it up myself, does anyone know where in south count dublin does a decent paint job for a decent price?

The main scratch is on the passenger back door - got it from a wall when trying to avoid my mother when I was reversing off a main road.. it was her or my car.. I chose the car! Its a red car and the scratchs have lifted the red and the white primer is showing underneath so don't think the scratch remover would work.
