    Hi,

I am doing an assignment for a work experience FETAC Level 5 course. I have to describe the duties, responsibilitilies and typical daily routine of an Accounting Technician.

As I do not know any accounting technician personnally so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me some details of what they do on an average day.

    Thanks in advance.

    per accounting technicians ireland website

Accounting Technicians are qualified accounting professionals that work at all levels of finance. They can work in all types of organisations and are widely employed throughout the public sector, industry and commerce and in private accounting practices.

Accounting Technicians are involved in the day-to-day practical work of accountancy and play a key operational role in producing reliable financial information. They can perform a wide range of finance roles, from accounts staff to financial controller and beyond. For instance, they can do financial accounting and budgeting, costing and credit control, payroll administration and tax returns. More experienced Accounting Technicians may often perform senior managerial tasks and audits

Accounting Technicians can work on their own or alongside professional accountants. In a small company, they may be the only qualified accounting professional looking after the finance function, while in a larger company, they may be working as part of a team alongside accountants and administrative staff. While they are not accountants, they can perform many of the same functions and are qualified to take accounts up to trial balance.

Thanks for that, I had looked on the AT website but for the assignment I am suppose to give a profile of someone working in the area.

I'm just drawing a blank as to what to write. I have started putting a profile together from the AT website but was hoping for something a bit extra as the tutor could check the AT site and see that I took the info from that ;).

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
