    No more free delivery :(

    http://help.sendit.com/
Due to recent increases in Royal Mail postage charges we’ve changed our P&P structure and will be charging £1.99 per item with immediate effect.
As a result we’re reinvesting as much of this fee as possible which will be reflected in even lower prices on all our products.

This has nothing to do with Royal Mail. They're doing "free delivery" on TheHut.com and Zavvi.com. Since they're the same company this is merely them shifting costs around.

It's an extra £2.98 per item for Ireland.

Edit: This probably has something to do with the change in the VAT exemption where goods under £18 are exempt. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/mar/23/budget-2011-chancellor-to-close-online-vat-loophole

Quite a shame, I used to make a good few DVD/game purchases off them. Their prices were mostly kept in line with the exchange rate back when the €uro and £stg were close to parity, unlike Play.com essentially getting the correct price and adding a fiver.
I remember back when they used to charge for shipping (when the site was called blackstar) you could be guaranteed it in 2~3 days, and when they stopped charging it could be anything between 5 days to 2 weeks. You get what you pay for and all that. If bringing back the charge led to an improvement in shipping times I wouldn't particularly mind, but I preordered a game on the 6th and it only just arrived today. Nearly 2 weeks paid shipping from Belfast is absolutely ludicrous, even more so when you think they are now charging per item. Pretty much every site that charges shipping gives bulk discounts, and sends whatever items out in something a bit more protective than a jiffy bag. My friend preordered the same game from Amazon UK, got free shipping because it was above £20 and got it the following Tuesday. So I know where I'll be going in future!

Got an email today from them with a unique code for 10% off, was going to have a browse later but just saw this so won't bother now.

Its a fairly stupid move to be honest. Especially considering sites like these are only good for Games, DVD/Blu Ray and CD's. There is fairly stiff competition out there and charging this much for P&P is just going to harm them more than ever. People will just go to Amazon, Zavvi or TheHut from now on.

    Bye-Bye Sendit. Nice knowing ya

The £2.98 is the same no matter what you buy or how much it actually cost to ship it.

Buy a blu-ray for £5.89 pay £2.98 postage, buy an IPAD for £500 you still pay £2.98 postage

    Bye Bye Sendit.
